Club Cool is a longstanding example of Disney’s promotional relationship with Coca Cola. Situated in the heart of Future World, it’s a combination Coca Cola store selling a whole host of Coca-Cola merchandize, snack stand, and tasting facility. It’s one of my favorite stop off points as you can pick up a Frozen Coke which is amazingly refreshing on a hot day.
Free samples at Epcot’s Club Cool – I said Free!!!
Club Cool (formerly known as Ice Station cool) is a popular spot in Epcot, as it provides free samples of soda year round.
There are a couple catches, however. First, drinks are sampled using tiny cups that hold only a few swallows at a time. Second, all the flavors available are popular Coca Cola beverages from around the world, meaning there’s no standard sodas offered.
The drinks available have remained unchanged for years, but Disney marked the end of the Food and Wine Festival by introducing new flavors. Some old ones have survived the transition, as well, creating a great new line-up.
What can I sample at Club Cool?
The beverages now available include:
Beverly- The most infamous offering of Club Cool, this Italian aperitif has a shockingly bitter flavor. While there are a few individuals who enjoy it, many spit it out into nearby trash cans after their first taste. Beverly is one of the old flavors kept in the transition, as it’s a rite of passage for most guests to try it, at least once.
Fanta Pineapple - One of the many flavors of Fanta, this Grecian version has an intense pineapple taste.
Fanta Melon Frosty - A version of Fanta from Thailand, this beverage has a very sweet fruit flavor.
VegitaBeta - A Japanese health beverage, this non-carbonated drink has a flavor similar to American sports drinks like Gatorade. This is the other beverage to remain.
Bilbo Kiwi Mango - A South African fruity drink, Bilbo has an interesting combination of fruit flavors that creates an odor and taste that might not be appealing to everyone.
Sparberry – An African cream soda with raspberry flavor, this drink’s flavor is especially rich.
Inca Kola - The description of this Peruvian soda states that it tastes like bubblegum, which is surprisingly true.
Guarana Kuat- From Brazil comes this fruit soda, flavored by the less-known guarana berry.
Overall, the new flavors of Club Cool provide an enticing new variety, although there is a focus on fruity flavors. Thankfully, Beverly is still around to shock new guests every day.
